Substance abuse / addiction is a terrible situation for everyone involved. Not only for the user, but for those on the sidelines, many times with nothing to do but worry. This can be incredibly stressful as worrying about if the individual "will make it through the day" can take its toll.

You care, you worry, you want to know everything is fine. Is Johnny going to answer? Is he going to answer my follow up call or call back? Making these calls and thinking about it daily is painful.
